Soccer Season as Begun

Aidan at practice.                                                                               Mason being patient
Not sure what he was                                                                           his instructions as to what
looking at.                                                                                             exercise they will be doing.

Everyone must stretch before game time.  Well bunch ball...where all the kids chase after the same ball.  The fact that they are not touching the ball with their hands is an amazing task.  It will be a while before they get the concept of soccer in terms of everyone having a position.  Until that day comes I am just happy cheering for them at how well each and every kid does.

GO TEAM!  LAKE TAYLOR STRIKERS!!

Lets go Aidan.  He was a little rock star on Saturday.  He did score a goal but I missed it because they had Mason playing on the adjacent field and I was watching my other little man when he scored.  I am so proud of him despite the fact I did not see it.

Brothers.  It is so great to see them playing this great sport together.  This first picture was them just kicking their ball around on a water break.
In this picture I think they are confused about what sport they are playing.  With their hands on their knees they look like they are ready for a baseball to be hit to them.  Not matter they sport they were definitely ready for the ball to come their way.
It was a great 1st Saturday at the soccer fields.  Last season (in the spring) they "played" Little Strikers.  In the beginning of that season I was not sure how I would feel about it.  It is a fundamental based bracket where they teach the kids soccer through games like red light, green light.  And things like chase the tail.  The focus was on how to dribble the ball and not to touch the ball with your hands.  ----- With the practices the boys have had on their LT Strikers team and the fundamentals they learned last season I felt like they showed the little "skills" they possess well on the field Saturday.  I would tell any parent who is getting their little ones into soccer that the Little Strikers program is a great place to start.

I am looking forward to watching my little guys progress as the season goes on.
