Earning some MONEY

For Christmas this past year, Aidan and Mason each got a piggy bank. We have been trying teach them responsibility through chores and duties around the house. Mainly they are held accountable for their dirty clothes, their dirty dishes making it into the dishwasher and helping sweep the floor/ vaccum. If they do all those plus the occassional making of the bed we give them an "allowance." But if they fail to listen to us and not do what they are responsible for then they get no money for the week.

We understand that kids forget to do things so I try and help them out but sometimes they are just darn right rotten and I cant bring myself to justify their actions enough to "pay" them.

However, we are not the only ones to give them money. From time to time when we go to Brians parents for an afternoon the boys will help Lucy out with some yard stuff, picking up pine cones and such. She has recently started to reward their good actions with payment. 50 cent. that is big time. Well today, Lucy watched the boys so I could have a mommy time out. They helped her out in the yard. So they got some money. They wanted a soda when we went up to the fire station to visit Brian so we made them use their money. kinda weird but a great teaching experience.
